What types of mazes do you offer?

What Maze generation techniques do you use?
We employ a technique called 'spanning trees', but our mazes are definitely not your average spanning trees. This is because we added a couple of refinement techniques invented by Sjarrel De Koning, to increase complexity:

  • Recursion: Normal spanning trees only contain one startnode, from where the entire maze is generated by adding new branches. Our mazes contain multiple startnodes, which allows us to steer complexity much better.
  • MazeLinkSelection: From a given node you can normally depart in 3 directions while the 4th direction is its predecessor. In a standard spanning tree the next node is normally randomly sampled from the 3 available candidates. For our mazes we employ over 20 different sampling techniques.
  • BrancheExtension: Same as Dot but now the Start- and/or Endpoint can be found along the mazeborder
  • Startnode/EndNode: We have 4 different routines to pick start- and endnodes

What about these Digital Versions available for each maze?
For each maze we also offer a high quality digital version:

  • The digital version is in PDF-format and can be downloaded up to a maximum of 2 times within 3 days after purchase.
  • Please note that copyrights remain with the author. Reproduction is not allowed apart from printing for own use.
